- review the what to pack list that I sent home again last week with your student
- all clothes must meet handbook non-uniform guidelines.
- we CANNOT administer any medication without the prescription bottle and written consent form (also send home last week)
- Send a few extra dollars for canteen items for snack time
- Throw in a empty trash bag for dirty clothes.
- label, label, label everything
- Don't send your Sunday best. We will be getting dirty and wet!
- We are doing our best to match the students with a friend or two in their learning group and sleeping group. We want them to experience all of this fun with their friends!
- School drop off time will be as usual on Wednesday morning. We will not leave the building around 9:45, but be here by 8:25 as usual.
- We will return Friday prior to the end of the school day. Plan to pick your students up as usual on Friday.
We will actually be having two regular classroom days on Monday and Tuesday. Here's what we will and won't be doing...
Due to our shortened week we will not be doing the following this week: Spelling/Vocab Unit, Bible Unit, or Bible verse
Math- In Math this week we will review multiplying decimals by decimals.
Science - In Science we'll be working on our group Power point hurricane presentations in the computer lab. We'll finish them up and have them ready to present when we return from our trip. Don't forget your barometers are due this week as well.
Language- In Language we will be covering quotations and capitalization.
Vocabulary - In Vocab we will be going over commonly misspelled words and small troublesome words.
Writing - We will continue learning about writing a topic sentence and supporting sentences. When we return from our trip we'll begin several new lengthy writing projects!
Social Studies - In Social Studies, we'll be finishing up our Civil War chapter. We'll complete the vocabulary for the chapter and review some of the Civil War battles.
Reading - In Reading we be reading Chapter 11 in Ghost Cadet. Once we return from Jekyll, we'll have a vocabulary quiz on Chapters 11 and 12. The students have done an excellent job with this book! They can't wait to see how it ends, neither can I! :)
Have a great week! Contact me if you have any questions at all!
Thanks!
