Friday, December 21st- 11:00 Classroom Christmas Party- Please come celebrate Christmas with us in the classroom!
Now- December 21st- As a service project, our class will be collecting fun band-aids, comfy kid socks, and change for CURE Childhood Cancer. CURE is a national not-for-profit based out of Atlanta. They fund research and serve as a support system for families of pediatric cancer patients. Savannah and Atlanta are really the only cities in Georgia that offer pediatric oncology. Until a month ago, families treated in Savannah were not reaping the benefits of CURE like the Atlanta families were, simply because of the distance. I'm very excited that CURE now has an area director right here in Savannah! Families that travel to Savannah for pediatric cancer treatment will now receive the same financial, emotional, and research support as those other places. In an effort to promote our new local branch of CURE, I've selected them as our Christmas service project. I've been very involved with this organization for several years. My middle daughter is a pediatric cancer survivor. I know how lonely this road can be, and I'm hoping that our small donations can bring a smile to a sick child. I'll be showing the students a short video featuring some of our local CURE kids. If you'd like more information on the organization, please visit http://www.curechildhoodcancer.org/ . You may send in kids socks, band-aids, and change anytime. The socks and band-aids are delivered to children in the hospital. Thanks!

Luke 2: 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
